Job Description
The Jackson Laboratory's Security Services Department is seeking a full time Security Controller to staff the Security Operations Center in Bar Harbor, Maine during peak operations.

This position provides dedicated communications, security and systems monitoring and command and control functions for the organization's security operations across all campuses, and must be able maintain an exceptional level of professional competence.
Enterprise-wide responsibilities of this position include:
Alarm monitoring and assessment.
Video surveillance and monitoring.
Routine and emergency dispatch and communications.
Emergency response coordination of onsite and local first responders.
Critical incident management.
Notification and escalation for major incidents.
Checklist and procedure management.
The successful candidate will be required to have a satisfactory background check/consumer credit report prior to beginning employment.
Required Skills
Some knowledge of the troubleshooting process highly desired.
Ability to remain calm and effectively multi-task in a fast-paced and potentially high pressure environment is required.
Comfortable in a technology-driven environment with strong computer skills required.
Strong written and verbal communications skills with substantial two-way radio experience required, public safety dispatcher certification or significant security operations center experience preferred.
Some data research and analysis skills desired
Required Experience
High School diploma or equivalent, some college-level experience preferred.
A clear criminal history - successful candidate will be required to complete a satisfactory background/consumer credit check prior to beginning employment.
Valid state driver's license.
3+ years professional security, law enforcement (including local, state and Federal rangers and wardens), or related military experience required.
Some data research and analysis skills desired.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
