Job Description
In conjunction with the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Content Manager will assist in the development of the strategic approach to marketing outreach for JAX Mice, Clinical & Research Services and comprehensive coordination of the tactical execution of that approach. Manage the creation/development of multiple content types across all marketing channels. The position will take a leading role in content generation, platform choice and coordination for campaigns and deliver a coherent vision and message through well planned and executed initiatives. They will demonstrate expertise in current content marketing best practices and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans. The Marketing Content Manager will generate and utilize analytics to establish and optimize website content to approve and measure KPIs including traffic, engagement, lead conversion and member retention. The incumbent will oversee the collection and analysis of campaign successes, relying heavily on a metrics-based approach to analysis and advise on strategy refinements to the Director of Marketing.
The successful candidate will be creative, have the dedication and flexibility to meet aggressive deadlines, have experience interacting with various levels of management and staff; will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills; understand both content marketing strategy and the use of analytics to measure performance, a solid understanding of the science and technology to allow for content creation, be a self-starter; and have the ability to work independently as well as within groups.
Required Skills
Candidates must have:
Bachelors degree in marketing, business, life sciences or a related field is required and at least 5
years of direct experience in a content marketing role or a graduate degree in the sciences and 3
years of direct experience in a content marketing role. A degree in a scientific discipline (preferably biological) and/or content management experience in a science-oriented environment is also strongly preferred.
Strong initiative, be goal-driven, highly creative, results-oriented, and possess excellent computer, web and marketing automation technology skills and knowledge.
Demonstrated expertise in effective marketing strategies and marketing best practice.
Proven project management experience with demonstrated success in formulating, implementing and evaluating complex marketing plans and programs through the use of analytics.
Proven capability to generate and /or edit customer facing marketing content that leverages scientific information.
The ability to effectively manage projects in a matrix environment and hold stakeholders accountable for deadlines and deliverables while maintaining a positive team focused work environment.
Great communication skills, written and verbal, and be able to work effectively across functional groups to set and meet aggressive schedules.
Experience, familiarity or ability to learn web design and graphics software such as, Photoshop, SFDC (CRM), Marketing Automation and the ability to learn new applications quickly.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
