Manager, Marketing Services

Summary
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of global marketing strategies and promotions that drive revenue growth for the services portfolio. This position reports to the Associate Director of Marketing and will manage a staff of 1-3 individuals.
The incumbent will need to work independently as the project manager and primary contact for complex and strategic marketing projects and initiatives as it relates to the services division. Working in concert with the Mouse Marketing Manager, Product Managers, and Business Unit Managers to ensure marketing efforts and messaging aren't disjointed but inclusive of all JMCRS capabilities. The Marketing Manager, Mouse is responsible for creation and administration of the JMCRS Mouse Marketing Calendar (in close consultation with the Associate Director of Marketing), ensuring that activities are in line with strategic objectives and is accountable for marketing campaign performance. The incumbent also acts to oversee all aspects of planning, producing and executing marketing campaigns. Position holds responsibility for campaign budgetary management, implementing and delivering metrics to the Associate Director of Marketing for Campaign performance and reporting to business stakeholders.

Critical elements of successful performance include project leadership, self-motivation, negotiating and problem solving skills. Incumbent should have a good understanding of JAX marketplace, the creativity to develop marketing approaches and solid writing and editing skills to ensure the development of all ads and collateral are impactful and resonate with potential customers. Other qualities include persistence, discipline, detail oriented, and ability to delegate (both down and up the JAX org structure) and be persuasive. Requires exceptional interpersonal and customer care skills. Must possess both project management and personnel management experience.
Responsibilities
50% Marketing Campaign Management: Ensures that timelines, milestones, budgets and deliverables are established and meet the needs of stakeholders (Marketing Manager (Mouse or Services), Business Unit Managers, TIS and the Associate Director of Marketing) and project sponsors.
30% Media Plan and Advertising Management: Develops and executes the Media Plan including external print, digital advertising, and identification and coordination of media outlets, issues, dates and specific ad content. Successful execution of these responsibilities will require the incumbent to develop and edit marketing product and service content and to ensure content is well-aligned with researcher values. Collection, interpretation and communication of analytics to stakeholders to inform ad/platform performance and future activities.
20% Asset and Resource Management: Strategy, writing, editing, development and deployment of marketing collateral and information used in marketing automation campaigns, webinars, seminars and other marketing managed outreach.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Marketing, communication, business related field or Biology. Advanced coursework in Marketing is a plus.
3-5 years of experience working in the preclinical biomedical research industry.
3-5 years of experience in managing projects.
3-5 years of experience in sales, marketing or customer facing role.
Strong understanding of our customers and ability to transform customer insights into actionable marketing strategies.
Excellent interpersonal, communications, and negotiation skills coupled with the ability to build networks, influence and motivate others toward accomplishing individual and group objectives.
Demonstrated experience in formulating and successfully implementing projects/decisions, under tight timelines and pressure, which carry significant financial and business consequences. Must be able to work with technical scientists to develop and edit marketing content and author content with considerable independence and flexibility to ensure quality, technical accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
Experience in scheduling and managing multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders under tight deadlines. Experience managing advertising or promotion schedules and marketing calendars is highly preferred.
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM systems) and Marketing automation systems is preferred.
Excellent skills to include computer hardware and software applications that would normally be encountered in a business setting such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to navigate and integrate relevant scientific resource databases.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
