Biologist (Vegetation)

As Biologist (Vegetation) at Acadia National Park, you will be responsible for:
Designing and implementing long-term vegetation monitoring protocols; Developing protection, mitigation, and restoration projects to prevent resource damage and maintain the integrity of critical habitats and managed landscapes; Collecting and analyzing vegetation-related data to ensure studies are scientifically-sound and data is accurate and complete; Implementing methods to control invasive and exotic species; Managing and overseeing Park pesticide application and compliance with Federal laws and regulations; and Performing the full range of supervisory duties, including assigning work and evaluating employee performance This is a Career-Seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment, but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. As such, selectee will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months per year based on project requirements or weather conditions. Selectee is guaranteed to work at least 6 months per year but not more than 50 weeks per year, with the work schedule to be determined upon appointment In order to be qualified for this position, you must meet the basic requirement in one of the following ways:
A. Possess a Bachelor's or higher degree in the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position - OR - B. Possess a combination of education and experience. This includes courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition, you must meet the minimum qualifications in one of the following ways:
A. Possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service, drafting scientific project plans; conducting ecological studies or surveys of plant communities; implementing management plans to mitigate threats from pests or exotic/ invasive species; reviewing scientific data to ensure its accuracy and validity; and preparing a variety of technical reports for delivery to management - OR - B. Possess three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a PhD in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position - OR - C. Possess a combination of experience as described in A and graduate level experience as described in B that, when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. (Please note:
only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used in this calculation.) You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
