Wildlife Biologist

The Wildlife Biologist serves in the Division of Resource Management and is responsible for the application of natural ecosystem concepts to management of many Park wildlife resources. Included in the position are:
1) ongoing review and assessment of the Park's wildlife resources, including maintenance of existing and development of new inventory and monitoring programs, identifying wildlife problems and research needs, developing research proposals, coordinating and conducting studies, and applying research results to management programs; 2) development and ongoing refinement of a wide variety of wildlife management programs and the implementation of these programs; 3) providing professional advice and recommendations to all levels of Park management and employees on wildlife management and related issues; and 4) professional coordination and cooperation with other federal, state, and local agencies and private, educational, and other institutions with shared interests in or responsibilities for wildlife management and research programs Basic Requirements for this position:
A. Bachelor's Degree with a major in a biological science that includes the following course work:
1) at least 9 semester hours in such wildlife subjects as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, wildlife management, or research courses in the field of wildlife biology; AND 2) at least 12 semester hours in zoology in such subjects as general zoology, invertebrate zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, cellular biology, parasitology, entomology, or research courses in such subjects; AND 3) at least 9 semester hours in botany or the related plant sciences. NOTE:

You will be required to submit an official transcript if selected for the position. OR B. Combination of education and experience that is equivalent to a major in a biological science. This combination includes 1) at least 9 semester hours in wildlife subjects as described in A above; AND 2) 12 semester hours in zoology subjects as described in A above; AND 3) 9 semester hours in botany as described in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include:
, identifying wildlife problems and research needs, developing wildlife research proposals, coordinating and conducting wildlife studies, and applying research results to management programs. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree directly related to the work of position. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lowest grade level may be combined with experience. (For example, 6 months of appropriate experience equivalent to GS-07 (50 percent of the experience requirement and 27 semester hours of appropriate graduate education (50 percent of the education requirement)). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
